What began as a small cluster of passionate brewers has evolved into a buzzing community of creators, innovators and beer-obsessed locals. Today, beer lovers travel across NSW to experience Newcastle’s unique blend of world-class brewing, laid-back hospitality and neighbourhood charm. Our trails connect the dots - guiding you between taprooms, hidden gems and lively hangouts to discover great beer and great times.

Each brewery on the Trail offers something different:
Grainfed Brewing (Lambton) — community-focused and proudly independent, Grainfed is known for bold, clean, flavour-packed beers and a friendly local vibe.
Modus Merewether — a stunning coastal brewhouse pairing fresh, modern beers with breezy Merewether energy and great food.
Rogue Scholar (Newcastle West) — Newcastle’s OG alternative brewery with creative experimental releases and a legendary live-music atmosphere and a rooftop bar.
Method Brewing (Islington) — small, precise and quality-driven, Method champions technical brewing with a minimalist, modern taproom.
Thirsty Messiah (Broadmeadow) — laid-back, welcoming and fun, with 40 taps pouring approachable craft beers loved by locals and first-timers alike.
Shout Brewing (Islington) — inventive, hop-forward beers made by passionate beer nerds — a favourite among craft purists.
Foghorn Brewery (Newcastle CBD) — a Newcastle icon combining classic American brewpub energy with award-winning beer and brilliant food.
Good Folk Brewing (Hamilton) — Proudly Newcastle, Good Folk brews expressive beers that bring people together. Visitors enter via a quirky pizza shopfront to a “speakeasy-style” space.
